Why use Capacitive Touch?
Capacitive Touch is not as popular in the general market place as the Resistive Type, however it does have some distinct advantages for certain applications over the Resistive type. Below are the main advantages of using Capacitive Touch:

Improved Light Transmission
Very Durable and less Scratch resistant
Drift Free Stable performance
Improved Resolution Images
Impervious to grease, dirt and water

The Capacitive Touch is ideal for the more rugged application and is particularly useful for Kiosk type products and also applications where the enviourment may be less clean.

However if your product requires a stylus then Capacitive is not an option as it will only operate with finger touch only. Resistive remains the most common for industries such as Medical, POS, Industrial and Portable applications due to it's versatility with respect to activation i.e fingernail, mechanical stylus, gloved hand, finger. However it's surface is that of plastic so it is more vulnerable to scratches unlike the glass surface of the Capacitive screen.
